Missouri is fabulous for your float trips, as it is the top destination in the United States for Canoe and Kayak Float Trips. The reason is obvious when you get here, with the crystal clear rivers, steep bluffs and high mountains, and well established canoe and kayak outfitters for each of the rivers.

From there, the rivers are generally easy for the beginner, as well as play spots for the advanced paddlers and whitewater kayakers. Missouri has easy and slow rivers, as well as lively ones, but the ones in South Missouri are pretty easy as well as gorgeous, and can be paddled by all during normal water levels.

The following rivers are in the Ozark Scenic River area, in the South Central part of Missouri, not far from the arkansas border. Major towns include Gainesville, West Plains, Alton, Eminence, and Thayer MO/Mammoth Springs AR.
